Zombies over Flowers
The Mekhet Derivatives
“God is dead: but considering the state Man is in, there will perhaps be caves, for ages yet, in which his shadow will be shown.” -
Listed below are the bloodlines derived from the Mekhet stock. They are specific only because of both notoriety and number.
- Carriers. This strain of Mekhet are in pain. Afflicted with a disposition to only feed on the diseased. Although they hide themselves under the guise of a Mekhet, a Morbus can be identified with their unending sickly condition. They often turn doctors, hoping to find a cure for their ailment. They have some form of control over their ailment, called Cachexy. The diseases they carry do not directly affect the Morbus most of the time, but they do affect their victims through blood or sex. Their mainstay is scattered, although you may find them in pockets . They are disciplined in: Cachexy, Auspex, Celerity, and Obfuscate. [VtR]
- Sandmen. This strain of Mekhet have a greater propensity for prophecy than their mainstream cousins. Their specialty are dreams, however. As much as they have great insight into the dreams of others, they often lose sight of what is fact and what is imaginary. What is worse are the nightmares that rack their own existence, to the point of crypticism and sometimes sleepwalking into the death by Daylight. Their mainstay is scattered, although you may find them working as soothesayers or psychiatrists. They are disciplined in: Auspex, Celerity, Insomnium, and Obfuscate. [_The Hidden]
- Asp. These nights, they are called Servants. They are the very reason why the Mekhet are called “Shadows”. These are the hashashiun of the Dark Ages, and they can weave and mold the shadows unto their existence. Although their bloodline is dying out, they remain firm and efficient. Mercenaries and agents, the Asps are stalwart… and they are one of the few Kindred that have stared down demons. They are disciplined in: Auspex, Celerity, Obtenebration, and Vigor. [_The Hidden]
- Hierodule. Women only. Now you think this may be a party, but it isn’t. They believe that God put vampirism on earth and that procreation is still possible in it, only differently. Although the Lancea Sanctum accepts them, they also believe in a Queen of Heaven, which runs them into persecution. Their covenant with one another is that they must be better than the yesterday of suffering, usually deliverance from an abusive husband or father. One problem with the Hierodules is that they defy the Second Tradition, ending up Embracing far more than any other clan, believing it is a God-given right and it should not be taken lightly. On the record, their attempts to Embrace males is not attempted—due to the gory mess that happens a day afterward. They are scattered and I have no idea where they are. They are disciplined in: Auspex, Celerity, Embrocation, and Obfuscate. [_The Hidden]
